License: Aircraft & Civil Aviation Mechanic

<h3>Occupational Description</h3><br>Aircraft mechanics keep aircraft operating safely and efficiently. They work in highly technical and specialized areas on different systems that make up today’s complex aircraft. An aircraft mechanic can be either certified or non-certified. Only FAA-certified mechanics may approve aircraft for return to service, subject to specific limitations, training experience, and other additional authorizations. A non-certified mechanic may not approve any work accomplished by himself/herself, and must be under the direct supervision of an FAA-certified mechanic or repair station at all times.<br><h3>Licensure Requirements</h3><br>Certification Requirements are found in Title 14 CFR Part 65.<br><h3>Fees</h3><br>Certifications are conducted by Designated Examiners, with certification fees varying by Examiner.<br><h3>Renewal</h3><br>No renewal requirements.
