An applicant for licensure shall meet the eligibility requirements outlined below: Successful completion of a doctoral degree from an approved program in psychology. Programs holding full accreditation by the American Psychological Association during the applicant's attendance meet the requirements for an approved program in psychology. Programs not so accredited are subject to an individual review to ensure that the applicant's psychology program meets the requirements outlined in Section 20-188-2 of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies; An applicant who has received a doctoral degree in psychology that does not meet the requirements outlined in the Regulations may remediate the required course work post-doctorally in a program accredited by the APA. An applicant who has received a doctoral degree in a non-applied or non-clinical area of psychology shall meet the educational requirements provided the applicant has completed a respecialization program in an applied psychology program accredited by the APA. Successful completion of at least 1 year of supervised work experience at the pre or post-doctoral level. Work experience as part of an internship required to complete the doctoral degree cannot be counted toward meeting this requirement.
