License: Firearms Safety Training Instructor

Firearms Safety Training Instructors or Concealed Handgun Safety Instructors train and evaluate the level of competence of a prospective Concealed Handgun Carry License applicant or licensee to ensure that the individual meets a basic level of knowledge, understanding, and practical operation for safe handling of a handgun. Requirements: 1) Must be at least 21 years old. (18 years old if an active or former member of the U.S. military) 2) Must meet the qualification requirements set forth in Arkansas law for a person to be licensed to carry a concealed handgun. 3) Must hold a firearms instructor training certificate from a department recognized instruction course. 4) Must submit a properly completed registration application. 5) Must submit the background check fees required for state and national background checks. 6) Must submit fingerprints via Livescan electronic submission. 7) Must successfully complete the examination administered by the Department. Written examination required. Background check fees required.
