Neuroimaging is the subspecialty of neurology dedicated to the study of the structure of the nervous system with techniques that provide anatomical renditions, both static and dynamic, of the nervous system and related structures. Because diseases of the nervous system alter its structure and function, neuroimaging contributes substantially to the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of neurological diseases.
