The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Helicopter Class Rating is a rating placed on a pilot and/or flight instructor certificate. Candidates must hold a pilot certificate for operating a civil aircraft of the United States or a pilot certificate for operating a foreign-registered aircraft within the United States. Candidates must have received ground and flight training and pass a practical exam.
