The Certified Accessibility and Private Residence Lift Technician program (known as CAT) is a formal education and certification program specifically designed for the Accessibility Industry. The CAT Program includes accountability, testing, and field verification. Through this industry-based certification program, contractors and other employers in the accessibility industry can provide a cost effective approach to training employees and potential employees.

  2. The certification has an education level of an Associates of Arts or Associates of Sciences degree or higher, but has a work experience requirement of less than 2 years of work experience.
  3. The certification has a work experience requirement of more than 2 years but does not require a two-year Associates of Arts or Associates of Sciences degree.
